Makes 3 cups
Ingredients
1 cup broken walnut pieces | ¼ cup butter |
2 cups sugar | 3 tblspns instant coffee |
3 cups hot water | ½ cup cold water |
¼ cup corn starch |
Melt sugar slowly over low heat until golden, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Dissolve coffee in hot water; stir into sugar. Heat and stir over low heat until sugar redissolves. Combine cold water and corn starch; stir into sugar/coffee mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Add walnuts and butter. Pour into 3 1-cup jars. Store covered in refigerator.
